| Bio: | Lovely Ladies on Beautiful Bikes   MindMap My name is спутник--which is internationally recognizable as "Sputnik". I like writing, though I haven't written creatively in some years. Recently, I've been more into photography. I enjoy driving, and the performance of my car makes it quite enjoyable, so I take care of her as best I can. You could say that I'm living in exile from the harbour of my youth, as I've all but ceded the State of Pennsylvania. I rather like it in Colorado, though, as I've made a lot of good friends that are very supportive and fun to be around. I've gone to lengths to maintain all of the friendships I had back east, and at times it's more challenging because of the distance, but I do what I can. I tend not to define myself by what I do for a living, and try to marginalize it as irrelevant in what I do in my life. When people inquire about what I do for work, I often tend to ignore or side-step the issue completely, rarely offering even a glimmer of what I actually do. I tend to avoid work when it's my job, and I tend to avoid it when I don't have to work. Rarely do the two meet, unless work requires me to travel to some place that I'd like to be a tourist, which happens often. I like to travel a lot, and enjoy taking pictures of the places I've been. It helps that all I do is travel for work. Work is neither what I am, nor who I am. Recently, I've gone through greater lengths to get back in touch with people I once knew in my childhood while continuing to make new friends. The internet greatly facilitates this task, what with the mySpaces and the Facebookz. Other than that, I'm just trying to get on with my business, enjoy what I can when I can, and do what good I'm capable of, but not really advertising it. I'm cynical and far too jaded for my age, but my brand of experience has taught me that if people think you're a good person, they'll have expectations... that you'll do them favors if they ask... and that puts pressure on me, and I don't respond well to pressure. So, a lot of people think I'm a misanthrope, and they're not wrong. I also don't respond well to bullshit shenanigans, so if you bring either near me, expect to be verbally assaulted, browbeat and insulted until your departure has been secured. I'm curious by nature and have a fixation on solving puzzles. Often times, I have to force myself to leave something go or abandon it before it consumes me whole. Some people I keep around purely out of interest, much in the same way House keeps the philandering plastic surgeon around. People intrigue me; their motives are the greatest puzzle of all. I think that on some level, I'm probing and testing and observing the responses to my behavior rather than actually being the person that I am. I think it's also entirely subconscious.
